Dr. Brandon G. Smith, BSc PhD

Welcome to my home on the web!
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Engineering, at the University of Cambridge, funded by the NIHR Global Health Research Group on Acquired Brain and Spine Injury.

My interests lie in the ideation, innovation and translation processes for healthcare technologies in resource-limited settings. I work within the International Health Systems Group, part of the Engineering Design Centre, and am an Academic Bye-fellow at Lucy Cavendish College.

I co-lead the EyeVu Consortium, a junior-led working group exploring rapid prototyping and deep learning in the creation of a frugal, automated 'smart' opthalmoscope for papilledema detection in resource-constrained settings.
